Posted by: Cobra At the end of this month, Texas Country star Wade Bowen is releasing his new self-titled album, so for this week's Throwback Thursday review, I am reviewing his second album, my personal favorite album of his to date, Lost Hotel. Released in 2006, this Wade Bowen album is perfect. There's really no other word to describe it.

Posted by: Cobra Late in September, Eric Church released the fourth single off of his Outsiders album.
"Talladega" is a song about last memories as kids before becoming full adults. "It was the summer before the real world started" the song begins, and then moves into a story of five friends taking an old Winnebago to the Tallagega racetrack. Posted by: Cobra Last night, I attended Eric Church's concert stop in Cleveland, OH on his Outsiders World Tour. Despite his arrogant personality, I am a big fan of Eric Church and I think he's very talented singer and musician, so I wanted to post a review with my thoughts on the show.
Posted by: Cobra When my feelings on an album or song are strong, they usually become pretty clear early in my reviews. That being the case, I'll get right to the point and say that Lee Ann Womack's new album is everything her fans had been expecting and hoping for.
Posted by: Cobra I may be a bit late for the bus on this one, but I just finally heard Darius Rucker's latest offering "Homegrown Honey" within the past couple of days. And I had to think long and hard about exactly how to word my review.
Posted by: Cobra When this song started, I wanted to like it. Honestly, it's not the worst song in the world. It actually had some real potential.
Posted by: Cobra There has been some amazingly bad "country" music released in recent years. From music that is pure pop (Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together") to pure rock (Sam Hunt's "Leave the Night On"), the genre has been put through the ringer.
But even artists like the ones I mentioned above have shown a capability of writing and/or performing songs of quality and substance. I'll freely admit to enjoying Taylor Swift's "White Horse" and Sam Hunt was responsible for writing "Cop Car" which I found to be an incredibly unique song. |
