The nominees again for Female Vocalist of the Year are:
Lori McKenna
Lucinda Williams
Aubrie Sellers
Miranda Lambert
Mary Chapin Carpenter
Aubrie Sellers
All of these artists put out superb albums in 2016, but ultimately, this decision came down to one the most unique and original albums I heard all year. This album was unique and original not just in terms of substance and music, but also in terms of style. Aubrie Sellers managed to experiment with sound and style and produce an excellent result without sounding like the album had no direction: in fact, it had clear direction and purpose and is an album I’ve enjoyed listening to repeatedly throughout 2016.
