The nominees again for Group of the Year were:
Randy Rogers Band
Turnpike Troubadours
Blackberry Smoke
Flatland Cavalry
Turnpike Troubadours
Turnpike Troubadours seemingly didn’t do much this year besides releasing the incredible song “Come As You Are.” But they also re-issued (if only on a limited basis) their debut album Bossier City, which is a real treat for those of us who missed it in its original pressing. For many (myself included), this was almost equivalent to having a new album. Listening to the album, you can see how much the band has grown and developed since its release. Both the single and the album are pure country, through and through, and represent some of the best country music has to offer.
