Thankfully, that’s where the generic portion of the EP ends. And while “Hangin’ Around” still finds them having fun, it’s a big improvement over the first track. But it’s on “She Don’t Break,” the third track, where they really hit their stride for the remainder of the short five-song collection. While “Tuesday Night” starts out sounding like it might be a similar track to “Where’s the Party,” it diverts its course and acknowledges “every now and then you need something to make you feel alright, even if it’s just beer and tacos on a Tuesday night.” And the final track, “Blush,” is the real highlight of the EP.
A previous EP of the group’s Bushy Creek was released about five months before their album She’s Like Texas and it contained songs that were later released on that album. So, hopefully, this is a sign that a new album is due out soon, with this EP as a taste of what will be on it. If that’s the case, we can be very excited for what they have in store.
