We only heard of them from this one song and haven't had a chance to see what they are truly capable of outside of "Girl In a Country Song." They've recently released an EP & now we're able to hear how their first single stacks up next to their other songs.
"Sierra" is about that girl we all knew in middle/high school: the stuck-up one who thinks her shit don't stink and she comes out smelling like roses. The girls serve the girl in question a warning that "karma's a b...." and that "the high horse you're on will buck you."
"Fly" is your typical inspirational, feel good song and the girls' harmonies really shine on this track.
The last track on this 4-song EP is "Your Side Of Town." This is where the electric guitars come out in full force, yet they don't overpower the song. This track warns an ex to stay on his side of the town. It reminds me a bit of Miranda Lambert during the "Kerosene" era.
Overall, this EP is more country than the majority of what is on the radio. What is refreshing is hearing steel pedal and fiddle high up in the mix. You even hear a fiddle solo (gasp!) on one song. They're only 18, however if they stay on the path that they're on, they have a bright future ahead of them. I give this EP 4 stars out of 5.
