Yoakam continues to give a very retro-feel to these new songs, very reminiscent of his early material. The song contains his signature drawl and unmistakeable voice.
However, as of right now, I have one major issue with this song at the moment. Unlike the first advance single, the title track, these lyrics are very difficult to understand. While I love the sound and feel of the song, I am having enormous difficulty understanding what is being sung. I'm sure once I have a lyric book in hand, I'll be able to enjoy the song more, but this is one I wouldn't want to see released as a single due to the lack of clarity in what is being sung.
Again, I love the feel of the song, but I have to take away some points for this, at least for the time being.
